A Canvas of Book Covers – Easy Wall Art in an Evening

book covers

The holiday season is fast approaching and we are all looking for easy gift ideas and ways to liven up our decor for the holiday parties and entertaining coming up. I love seeing my walls full and happy. I have never believed in leaving them empty anyway. I got this fun idea when I started re-modelling my craft room/library.

I wanted the walls to reflect both my crafty pursuits and the fact that I love to read.

Here is what I did with a simple canvas and postcards that can be found on Amazon. You can browse different postcard selections, I chose the Postcards by Penguin to make my canvas.

IMG_0592It was as simple as laying all the cards out on the canvas according to color and then pasting them down using some strong glue.

I love the Penguin covers for their simplicity and colors and feel that they add some extra depth to my craft room/library. You could choose different cards for a child’s room or even a breakfast room/kitchen. Postcards of different places would look lovely on smaller canvases for these areas.

I have found postcards of Beatrix Potter’s artwork, Jane Austen quotes and many many more. The possibilities are endless. Give it a try!
