I lost a family member a few days ago and needless to say I am very disturbed. I am also getting some time to think, reflect and ponder on the state of our lives and I’ve come to the conclusion that we surround ourselves with too many unnecessary things, we worry about unimportant things and we stress about trifles. All this time that we spend worrying is wasted. It leads to nothing but negativity, hurt, confusion and stress.
Instead we should focus on people, family and relationships. We should take the time to smell the flowers and be compassionate and understanding to everyone around us. We should spend time making an impact on people’s lives and building relationships. This can be done with a smile, a handmade card, time spent baking cookies together or making memories!
Our bodies and souls are important too. Many a time we ignore what our bodies are trying to tell us. We keep on going. We keep on living life the way we think we should and not the way we dream we will one day. We should focus on our internal well being and our spiritual wellness. We should make sure we take time to nourish our souls, through creativity.
Make a list of what your dream day would look like. Now make a list of what your current day looks like. Try and do something small everyday to move towards the life of your dreams! Why wait? With small steps everyday you’ll be surprised at the amount of progress you can make in a week, a month and a year. Taking small steps towards a big goal is better than doing nothing. Did you want to take a yoga class, start reading poetry, launch your photography business or take an online art class? Make the time today to add a little change in your life. Let this be the start of the life you always dreamed you would have. Don’t wait for tomorrow when we can start today!
