Who doesn’t need storage? Specially if it’s pretty. Altered containers and storage make awesome gift boxes as well as gifts. All you need are some old containers – these can be metal or card, some decorative paper or old magazines, scissors, glue and some fun embellishments.
I collect a lot of tins and also have a lot of uses for them. I use them to store all sorts of craft supplies. Here I took some tins and covered them with aluminum foil. Then I added some foam stickers. The mismatched tins were tuned into a beautifully coordinated set!
I really do love tins of all shapes and sizes. This is another project that I did. This is an altered tin. I used advertisements from magazines, some pictures of flowers and butterflies to create this collage. I finished the tin up with some diamontes and fiber.
The last one I want to share is an old ice-cream container that was dressed up using some decorative paper and cut-outs from old children’s books. I finished the box off with some trim and fibers.
Do you love boxes? Have you tried a project like this before? Please share your Christmas gift ideas in the comments below.
